Girl Online Appreciation Post

I'm a big fan of cozying up with a good book and a nice hot cup of tea. I'm also a big fan of reading books straight through with no breaks, even if it means staying up until 3 in the morning. Girl Online and it's sequel, Girl Online: On Tour, are both exactly that; nice cup of tea books, and read-straight-through books.
I first read Girl Online a few months ago mainly because it was written by Zoe Sugg, (or Zoella, but I know everyone reading this already knew that). Also because it's a young adult novel and I'm currently obsessed with those. After reading, I was instantly hooked on the characters, Penny and Noah. The book also had anxiety and panic attacks as a theme which made me like it even more. It's hard to find books that depict anxiety as accurate as Girl Online and that's extremely refreshing, coming from someone who sometimes doubts the people who say "you're anxiety will get better over time". Sometimes you just need reassurance knowing you're not the only one with an extremely chaotic, overthinking brain, even if it is coming from a fictional character.
After finishing the first book, I was itching for a sequel. Even though I had to wait quite a few months, Girl Online; On Tour, was just as great as the first one, if not better. The theme, a little less about anxiety, and more about the future and Penny living her life for herself, somehow resonated with me even more, if that's even possible. Though Penny is only 16, I feel for her. I'm 21 and I have no clue what I want to do with the rest of my life, and that's pretty scary. I do know, however, that after reading Girl Online: On Tour, I'm not going to feel the pressure of anyone else telling me what I should be doing with my life.
I'm not really sure where I was going with this post. It's not a full on review, it's more like a very long recommendation post. If any of you reading this are like me, an over thinker with an anxiety-ridden brain, no clue about the future, and a sucker for love stories, then you'll absolutely love these books.

  2. I absolutely love reading too and quite often will let the housework pile up so that I can get to the end of a book. I haven't read either of these yet, but they're definitely on my reading list!

    1. Sometimes I go a full day without leaving my bed while reading a book, so I know exactly how you feel!
